Mark your calendars from 20 to 29 September for the Global Week #Act4SDGs, a worldwide initiative supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Held annually during the UN General Assembly’s high-level week in September, it showcases civil society’s commitment to the 2030 Agenda.

This year, another significant event is the Summit of the Future on 22-23 September 2024 in New York. This summit will address global challenges and strengthen international cooperation by reevaluating and reinforcing the multilateral system established by the UN Charter. Key outcomes include adopting the Pact for the Future for a more inclusive global governance framework and the Declaration on Future Generations to ensure their interests in decision-making.

Inspired by these documents, as part of our tradition, SDG LENS is dedicated to supporting local initiatives during the Global Week to Act4SDGs. We focus on uniting the wisdom and insights of all generations — from youth to seniors — to advance SDGs within our region.

To tackle the challenges ahead, we need more than awareness. Let’s embrace fresh perspectives, innovative solutions, and a renewed determination and collaboration between all generations for sustainable development. Every individual choice and action contributes to our collective journey toward a sustainable future!

We invite you for multigenerational action during the Global Week #Act4SDGs 2024!

Submit now your idea for an advocacy or mobilisation action for the Global Week to Act4SDGs. You can propose any format of action, so long as it:

  • have clear aims aligned with the Global Week to Act4SDGs on any SDG
  • has an innovative approach to unite communities for action or push decision-makers for the SDGs
  • Engages different generations in the community you are targeting.

We will support a range of initiatives, including both localised events and online local, subnational, national, and international activities advocating for the SDGs. You will be supported by 5 initiatives with a microgrant of up to 500 EUR. The deadline for submitting your idea is July 31.
